Dead beat...

Haven't got the time to really go out and shoot. It's my final month of lab work and I really need to get on it so that I can have something to write about for my thesis. Nonetheless, still managed to snap some pictures in my lab.

WOOHOO~~~ Received a missed mail note in my mailbox few days ago. Finally got time to go to the post office to pick the item up. When I saw the size of the parcel, I knew what I was expecting... Seeing the attached mailing receipt on the parcel further confirms what is inside. From mijonju, Tokyo.

Eager to unwrap this parcel. It is always an exciting affair to unwrap a gift/parcel, even though you already knew what the content is. The excitement never fails to get to me! 

Can't seem to get the Fujifilm Natura ISO 1600 films here in Melbourne. Had to make do with a ISO 800. Will bring this little pet to the Manifest this weekend to test it out! Keep watching this space for more pictures to come! I apologize for the delay in uploading pictures. I tend to collect a few rolls of films before I send them for developing. So bear with me until I get back to Singapore!

1st Batch of R4M shots

Finally sent my films from R4M and Spinner 360 to the photo lab. Vanbar Imaging at Carlton. Not too impressed with their service. Or rather, I was unhappy with their service. Sent in a roll of slide and a roll of negatives from R4M and 2 rolls from Spinner 360.

Was told that scanning of slide into digital format will cost about $50. So I just developed the slide. Told them about the films from Spinner 360 and asked if they could put it into digital format. Again, they can't do it. So I told them not to cut my films so that they do not end up cutting my films into random pieces. So again, told Vanbar to develop these 360 films. As for the negatives, I said I wanted a medium resolution pictures which is about 1-2 MB. The guy told me high resolution will be about 6 MB per picture. I told him that a medium resolution will do. Summary, I can only get a digital format of only one negative while the rest were only developed.

Development went OK, but the digital format pictures came out only 600 kB each! To me, this is a low resolution picture! ROARS! Fed up with Vanbar! Not going to go back there anymore! Guess I will bring all my films back to TripleD for development and digitalization.

The Impossible Camera

The folks from The Impossible Project is asking for ideas about making their new Impossible Camera. After working on an idea for a night, I found myself working on Illustrator to come up with this idea.

My concept is a camera that is able to do a tilt-shift mechanism to bring about the signature effect, such as this:

By pushing and pulling the 4 screws at each corner, you can achieve such an effect. The camera is to be compatible with The Impossible Project's PX100 instant film. Lens would be a 50mm F8 with variable shutter setting, including bulb mode for low light photography. 

Maybe I'm too stressed out by school work that I am taking the day off to slack and daydream. Been such a crazy and tedious time for me at the moment, juggling project, rushing report, preparing for symposiums and conferences and managing house chores... Not the easiest of life, but I do hope to get it over and done with soon so that I can head back home for good...
